The Broker — What It Is
TabTrade.com went live in March 2026. CFD broker incorporated in Saint Lucia, under Saint Lucia's FSRA. The person who started it is Benjamin Boulter. Previously, he was a senior exec at BlackBull Markets, an New Zealand-regulated broker.
That last detail tells you something. It says the founder has actually done this before. Does not mean TabTrade is the same as BlackBull. Still preferable to someone with no brokerage experience.
TabTrade came out of the gate with Equinix LD4/LD5 connectivity. Same facilities institutional desks use. Most new brokers starts with a white-label MT4 setup. These guys did the opposite. Interesting choice.
The instrument list: forex, stock indices, metals, oil, energies, softs, shares, cryptocurrencies, exchange-traded funds. A wide spread. For something that is a few months old, the breadth is broad.
The Software
They offer: MT5, cTrader by Spotware, and web trading. Both MT5 and cTrader from one account. Most brokers commit to either MT5 or cTrader. Access to both matters. Pick what suits your style.
MT5 is the industry standard. Full charting, EAs, huge user base. If you have used a MetaQuotes platform previously, it is familiar territory.
cTrader by Spotware is the cleaner option. Cleaner order book. Smoother chart interaction. Built-in algo trading. Many people like it better than MT5 after comparing.
Direct FIX connectivity is offered for automated strategies but needs the VIP account ($25,000 deposit). TradingView charting is said to be on the roadmap. That should make the platform set once it is live.
Accounts and Pricing
Three account types: Standard, Edge, VIP.
Standard. 1.0 pip spreads. Commission-free. Straightforward. $0 to start. Suits people who want simple pricing.
Edge. Raw spreads from 0.0 pips on average. Flat commission of $3.50 per side. All-in: spread plus $7 per lot round-turn. On EUR/USD, the actual interbank spread is frequently below 0.2 pips. Meaning your real cost can be under half a pip. That is cheap for a broker with $0 to start. Most platforms that have spreads this tight want $500 or more to open. TabTrade requires zero deposit.
VIP. $25,000 minimum. FIX connectivity, faster fills, tailored rates. Not for most retail traders. Do not worry about it unless you move real size.
Execution Speed
The execution is the thing Tab Trade separates from most new launches. Equinix LD4/LD5. Execution below 30 milliseconds on Edge. Sub-20ms on VIP. These are institutional numbers. The average platform quote hundreds of milliseconds.
Does it matter? For short-term trading, yes. The gap between a 30ms fill and a 200ms fill is profit or loss on tight trades. If you hold positions longer, it matters less. What matters is the infrastructure is there. That says something about priorities.
Pair that infrastructure with the Edge account pricing and the overall offering holds up. Few brokers with no minimum deposit have infrastructure at this level.
The FSRA Question
Now, the part that requires honesty. The broker is licensed by the Financial Services Regulatory Authority of Saint Lucia. That is offshore. No CySEC. No investor compensation scheme. If that makes you uncomfortable, look elsewhere. There are tier-1 alternatives out there.
But. The founder came from BlackBull Markets, a proper broker. The server placement costs real money. Dodgy operations do not invest in tier-1 data centre access. None of this replace tier-1 regulation. It does be part of your assessment.
The trade-off: you trade regulatory safety. In exchange: high leverage, cheap spreads, no minimum deposit, Equinix execution. Whether this deal makes sense depends on you.
